Waterfalls

Whoever said you should not go chasing waterfalls, had not experienced the absolute joy of discovering some of Wangaratta and surrounds most magical environments.  The best time to discover our waterfalls is after winter and spring rains, however even with the slightest trickle, the amazing rock formations that create our waterfalls such as Paradise Falls, Briens Gorge Falls (known to the locals as Jubilee Falls) and the Pine Gully Falls are an attraction in themselves.

Although not accessible by foot, Victoria's tallest single drop waterfall at 255 metres, Dandongadale Falls can be seen from a roadside lookout near Lake Cobbler, a 4WD is recommended in wetter months.

Salisbury Falls Walk

This complex of walking tracks offers multiple options and loops ranging from two to six kilometres and from moderate to hard.

Pine Gully Nature Trail

This self-guided walk introduces visitors to the park’s natural values and is an excellent place to appreciate the wildflowers in spring.

Briens Gorge (Jubilee Falls)

Briens Gorge is a picnic spot set in a delightful valley with a nearby waterfall of the same name.

Paradise Falls

Paradise Falls is a beautiful spot for visitors to enjoy just 20 minutes from the township of Whitfield.

Warby Falls Heritage Trail

From the carpark on Booth Road, this track follows a gully with a historic saw mill, weirs, sheep washes, dams and waterfalls (dry in summer).
