Step out and explore the Rural City of Wangaratta’s natural beauty on foot. There are many walks and hikes on offer, from a gentle stroll connecting with nature to a full day adventure.
Head out on a self-guided historic walk of our cities historic buildings, learn about our indigenous past along the Bullawah Cultural Trail, or go back in history to the time when bushrangers roamed our lands in the Glenrowan Siege Precinct.
For the adventure seeker, grab your backpack and hiking shoes and explore one of our surrounding National Parks. The Alpine National Park lies to the south, Warby-Ovens National Park to the North West and Chiltern Mt Pilot National Park to the East, they all offer a unique environment and vegetation creating a different experience in each park, from stunning granite outcrops, tall eucalypt forests and historic Australian Grass Trees, you will be sure to find a bushwalk to suit you.
