 Located in Victoria's High Country —an area of rolling hills and adventure where visitors can ski the mountains, fish for Murray Cod, and indulge in wine or history—you’ll find the Ned Kelly Discovery Hub. Nestled between Benalla and Wangaratta, just an hour south of the New South Wales border, Glenrowan is renowned as the site of the Kelly Gang’s last stand.

BY TRAIN/BUS

Take the Melbourne to Albury V/Line train or the Melbourne to Sydney XPT and disembark in Wangaratta. 

A bus service runs from Wangaratta to Glenrowan on Wednesday mornings, departing at 11:05 AM from the Wangaratta Coach Stop on Rowan Street and arriving in Glenrowan at 11:20 AM. The return bus leaves Glenrowan at 2:30 PM, arriving back in Wangaratta at 2:45 PM. 

BY CAR 

Glenrowan is located along the Hume Freeway, approximately 2.5 hours from Melbourne, between Benalla and Wangaratta.

Directions 

From the South (Northbound)

Take the Glenrowan exit, continue past the Big Ned, and head to the corner of Gladstone Street and Woolshed Road. You'll find the Ned Kelly Discovery Hub on the left in Lions Park. 

From the North (Southbound) 

Take the Glenrowan exit and follow the signs 1km into Glenrowan. The Discovery Hub will be on your right in Lions Park. 

Parking 

Car parking is available on Woolshed Road or along Gladstone Street. 

 

Lions Park  

Located in the heart of Glenrowan, Lions Park is home to the Ned Kelly Discovery Hub and a great place to relax and explore. With picnic areas, BBQs, a playground, and convenient public facilities, it's the perfect stop for families and visitors alike.

Lions Park is also the starting point of the Glenrowan Heritage Siege Walk, an engaging journey through key sites of the Glenrowan Siege and the capture of the Kelly Gang. 

 

Bus & Caravan Parking  

We welcome bus groups and caravanners to the Ned Kelly Discovery Hub, where you’ll find ample parking just a short walk from the hub. Whether you’re visiting as part of a tour or exploring Glenrowan at your own pace, we aim to make your visit as convenient as possible. For buses, there is a designated drop-off spot to the left of the hub on Gladstone Street, allowing passengers to disembark safely before parking. Caravanners will also find well-located parking options nearby, ensuring easy access to all that Glenrowan has to offer. 

BUS PARKING 

Woolshed Road runs one-way along the left side the hub. Follow this road under the bridge, and you’ll find designated bus parking spaces on your left. There is also a convenient meeting point under the bridge where groups can gather before heading into the hub. 

  • Bus parking: Two designated bus parking spaces are available on Woolshed Road. 

  • Drop-off point: A bus drop-off area is located in the service lane to the right of the hub on Gladstone Street. 

 

CARAVAN & CAR PARKING

  • Caravan parking: Available in the service lane on Gladstone Street for those traveling north. 

  • Car parking: Visitors can find car parking within easy walking distance of the hub, along Gladstone Street and Woolshed Road.
