At the Ned Kelly Discovery Hub, we are committed to inclusivity and accessibility. Our building has been thoughtfully designed to accommodate visitors, ensuring a welcoming and accessible experience for everyone. 

Building Access 

• The Hub is a two-level round building with a viewing platform on the upper level. Visitors can access this platform via a curved staircase or a wheelchair-friendly lift. 
• The ground floor entrance has no steps, and the main door is an automatic wide-opening door for easy access. 
• Hallways are extra wide to comfortably accommodate wheelchairs, walkers, and prams. 

Lighting & Sensory Considerations 

• Lighting inside the Hub is intentionally low to enhance video displays, but hallways remain well-lit for visibility. 
• Staff are available to adjust lighting and sound levels to create a more comfortable experience for visitors with sensory sensitivities. 
• There are no strobe lights, excessive sounds, or smoke effects within the Hub. 

Hearing Assistance 

• The Hub uses the Listen EVERYWHERE app for visitors with hearing impairments. iPods and headphones are available for loan at the front desk. 

Parking & Outdoor Access 

• Caravan parking is available to the left of the building, providing easy access for visitors traveling with caravans.
• In addition, there are two accessible parking spaces directly in front of the Hub.
• The pathway to the entrance is gravel but well-maintained. Staff are happy to assist if needed. Call 1800 801 065 for support.

Communication Assistance

• Staff are available at the entrance and have visual communication aids to assist visitors with communication barriers. 

Assistance Animals 

• The Hub welcomes registered assistance animals. 

Accessible Bathrooms 

• Accessible public toilets are available on-site. After exiting the front doors, walk around to the right-hand side of the building to access them easily.
